Iridescent, yet frail and nigh invisible strings caressed the Iudex's gloved wrist, the Hydro sigil he'd made dissipating at the same rate that the final hilichurl disintegrated. This had already been a common routine for the Chief Justice: being pulled away from his duties and joining the Traveler's 'party' with three other individuals.

It had become a regular occurance for Neuvilette as of late. It's been around, what, a few years since he's been invited to do so? Nonetheless, he's learnt considerably more in the intervening period than he ever would have by being cooped up in his office all day.

From the forgotten island in Mondstadt, to the fact that the Dendro Dragon Sovereign was still alive, even learning that the Geo Archon faked his death, and more.

But the most significant aspect of his entire Hydro-Dragon-Sovereign-reincarnated-as-a-human life was his growing knowledge of the Creator of Teyvat — his previous incarnation's creator, too, to be exact.

At first, like any other chosen acolyte, he couldn't understand whatever they were saying. Even the simplest words of their divine lexicon he couldn't make sense of, and anything he'd ever manage to hear were like choruses of voices — to the softest female voice akin to a child, to something he could only describe as nothing at all, from the most agonizing scream he'd ever heard, to the soft whispers of sweet nothings caressing his ear ever so gently.

It got to the point where needed the assistance of his other 'teammates' to translate a single letter; the retired geo archon would only tell him that they were quite overjoyed after he answered their call.

And with each ascension, he regained power comparable to that of a fully fledged dragon — his humble origins. Who knew that a good amount of colorful starfishes, transoceanic pearls, chunks, and crystals, multiples of the horn of a thought-to-be-extinct fontemer seahorse and gorgeous varunada lazurite gemstones in various forms, sizes, and hues could endow him with such power? And so simply, too?

Though he does not express it outwardly, his form is filled with pride whenever he summons the sigil to put forth a flood of hydro against the many, many forces of Teyvat that wished to harm him and the other acolytes.

You had planned for this to be a nice evening with Marcia, and so far, it was. It would have stayed that way too, if only that Grease hadn’t shown up.

Dallas Winston, the idiot with blond hair that looked almost white, those cold ice blue eyes that glared at everyone. He and two other boys had come up and sat behind you two.

The shortest of the three, had brown almost red hair, was real lanky, and had a sleeveless top on. He rubbed his palms along his arms, attempting to regain heat.

The second to tallest one had black hair, dark brown, chocolate eyes. He had a jean jacket on, his hands shoved into the pockets of it. He also had a small scar on his cheek. He looked around the three of them with perceiving eyes.

He looked like a puppy. A black, gorgeous puppy, with big brown beautiful eyes who everyone adored.

Dallas Winston had spotted the two of you, his eye on you, especially. He walked over to you two, sitting in the row of chairs behind. You heard the chairs shift, and then a loud voice.

The voice spoke dirty, shameful, and outright gross words. Marcia was ignoring him, but you were getting fed up.

Eventually, you learned that the voice had, not surprisingly, belonged to Dallas Winston.

He put his feet up onto the back of your chair. The most filthy thing was uttered, it was worse than what you had heard anyone say before, and that caused the two of your heads to whip around.

“Take your feet off my chair and shut your trap,” You firmly said and glared at him.

Dallas looked at her, amused. “Yeah? Who’s gonna make me?”

Marcia pointed out, “Hey, that’s the greaser that Jockeys for the Slash J,”

“..I know you two,” He started, “I’ve seen you around a couple rodeos.”

Neither of you answered and he kept on bugging you. “You two barrel race, huh?”

“You’d better leave us alone,” You warned. “Or I’ll call the cops.”

“Oh, my, my!” Dallas gasped dramatically. “You’ve got me scared to death,” He smirked at you. “You’ve ought to see my record sometime. Guess the reasons I’ve been in.”

“Please, just leave us alone, would you?” You asked. "Won't you be nice and leave us alone?"

“I’m never nice,” He responded. “You want a coke?” He asked you.

You rolled your eyes. “And if I did, I wouldn’t drink it if I was in a desert. Get lost, hood.”

Dallas got up and left you two after that. You rolled your eyes and muttered a ‘finally’ under your breath. You remembered there was another kid there, and you turned to look at him.

“Are you gonna start up too?” You raised an eyebrow.

His eyes widened and he shook head quickly. “No.”

You looked him up and down, then shrugged. “You don’t seem like the type anyway. What’s your name?”

He seemed a but hesitant, but he answered. “..Ponyboy Curtis..”

“That’s your real name? That’s original.”

“My dad was an original guy,” He smiled nervously. “I got a brother named Sodapop, too! Says so on his birth certificate,”

"Really? Well, my name's-"

"I know your name, I see you at school sometimes,"

You give him a puzzled look. "You don't seem old enough to be going to highschool, though,"

"I got bumped up a grade in grade school,"

"Really? What are you doing hanging out around with that filth?"

He stiffened. "I'm a grease like him, he's my buddy."

"Oh," You nodded in acknowledgment. "Your brother, he works at the DX, right?"

He nods. "Yeah."

"Didn't he used to ride in rodeos? Saddle Brone?"

"Yeah. Our dad made him quit after he tore a ligament. We still hang around rodeos, though. I've seen you two barrel race. You two are good."

"Thank you!"

Marcia spoke. "How come we never see him in school? He ain't older than seventeen, right?"

"He's a dropout," He seemed a little tense as he answered.

"Oh," You muttered as the other boy came back. He sat down and gave a small wave.

"Hi," He spoke.

You smiled at his timid nature, finding it cute.

Dallas though, came walking back confidently with several Cokes in his arm. He handed one to both Marcia and you, sitting down next to you.

"Maybe this will make you cool off,"

You opened the Coke and got an idea. You glared at Dallas, throwing the coke at his face. "This might cool you off, Greaser,"

Dallas wiped the Coke off of his face and smirked. He leaned closer to you. "Fiery, huh? Just how I like 'em," He started to put his arm around you, before the dark-haired boy interjected.

"Leave her alone, Dally," He said softly.

Dallas looked over to Johnny with disbelief. "Huh? What'd you say? What'd you say to me?"

Johnny gulped, but stood his ground. "You heard. Leave her alone."

Dallas opened his mouth to say something, but he didn't, got up angrily, and stormed out of there.

You looked over to the kid and gave him a sweet smile. "Thank you. I was real scared."

"You did a real good job of not showing it then. Noone talks to Dallas like that,"

"It seems like you do, though,"

His face burned and he looked at you with widened eyes. "I-I mean, I guess-" He started to mutter quietly, and your smile widened in adoration.

You and Marcia had soon later met Pony and Johnny's other friend, Two-Bit. He and Marcia seemed to really get along, and a small part of you hoped that they would see eachother again soon.

The three of them had gone a separate way than you and Johnny. It turned out, you and him had a lot in common! So, you ended up just walking alone with him.

As you two were walking, you heard the sound of a car coming up on the road. You were a little confused, since it was pretty late out. You paid little to no mind, though, even as the blue Mustang passed. Johnny though, did.

After the car passed, he seemed tense. He was more perceiving of his surroundings, he seemed more paranoid.

"Are you okay?" You asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," He assured.

You weren't fooled. You tried to lighten the mood by talking more, but the attempt was useless. You brought up an idea. "Hey, what if I walk you home? I wanna make sure you get home safe."

He thought about it for a moment, and a little reluctantly and hesitantly, he agreed to the idea. He now seemed a little less tense and more comfortable around you.

When the two of you had gotten to his house, he hadn't anticipated that his parents were actually up at this time. The two of your heard loud shouts and yells from inside the home, and you turned to look at him.

His cheeks flushed with embarrassment and he let out a sigh.

"Do you have another place to go?" You asked him softly.

He nodded. "Yeah, but I mean, it's not the most ideal place.."

You tilted your head to the side. "Why do you say that?"

He started to walk and you followed in his footsteps. He soon lead you to a lot, with lots of old abandoned junk. You two sat down on a couch that was left there. You two talked and talked for a while, until the white luminescent streetlights were the only source of light.

"Oh, I should've gone home earlier.."

"Well, I mean, there's my gang's house right here, not far. We could go there. It seems too late for you to walk home now, especially on this side of town. You know, with you being a Soc and all.." He suggested.

"...You think they'd let me in? Do you think they'd like me even if I'm a Soc?"

"I mean, I like you. Why wouldn't they?"

When Mobius and Sylvie are talking on the branch, the green and gold light is only on Mobius. Between that and Loki explicitly hearing Mobius' words, that's basically the confirmation that Loki did all this for Mobius. As one twitter user put it, Lokius Nation, we won, but at what cost?
